Best method to hookup Ipod on '01 S8?
I have a 2001 S8 that currently has XM hooked up though a FM modulator and a PhatBox that is hooked into where the six CD changer was.
I am thinking of moving the PhatBox to my wife's A8 and going with an Ipod hookup in my car. What is currently the best way to hook up the Ipod and XM in a '01 S8 with the factory stereo?

There are small boxes out there available commercially ...
... which provide an iPod/iPhone integration cable and an auxiliary jack for XM head units. They normally replace the CD changer by taking over it's jack on the back of the radio.

Yep, I used this one...simple to install, easy to use. Routed into my D2 glovebox.

If you can find an Icelink made by Dension (discontinued), I have 2 and they work great.
the one below does the same thing. If you can find an Icelink it'll probably be less than $50. Forum member or eBay, can't order new anymore.

Depends...
It will charge the ipod all the time unless you switch some of the wires at the interface end. IIRC the orange and red wires provide power, and red is the main power at the interface end.
