Default Big Picture Gallery Thread! A8Ls in 2 S. Cali Dealerships

This Saturday, I went to the Westlake Village dealership and The Auto Gallery at Woodland Hills

I'm not sure how to post multiple photos, so I'm just going to provide the links

I saw 3 different A8Ls:
Silver with Sabre Black interior (Great interior, IMHO)

Northern Blue with Platinum interior (Great exterior color, too)

And the one I test drove, Brilliant black with Beige interior

I took a quick test drive at the AutoGallery with Lisa, who was wonderful and highly recommended.

This car drives like a beaut! It doesn't feel like a land barge (or looks like one) even though there is very ample room front and back. The engine is very willing, the stereo system is great, and the handling is awesome. The Dynamic mode is very fun and I'd probably keep it there more than comfort. Automatic is a good all-around also. Brakes work well as well. The interior is very posh. There are 2 vanity mirrors for driver and front passanger - regular and closeup! The MMI is easy enough to use with about 15 minute of getting familiar with it. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to really learn it due to time constraint, but what I was able to pick up while driving is enough. Its simple enough. This is truly a great car. Now, I just gotta see whether I'll get it in Oyster Grey or Northern Blue, either with Sabre interior. The Night Blue would look good, but the brochure states that it doesn't come with black interior. It does come in blue interior, but I'd have to wait to see it....especially since it comes with vavona amber wood, which I'm not too fond of. I'll just reserve judgement until then

Other wise, the drive is great, the car is great, and I just can't complain =)
Anyone with this car will be one happy driver (or passenger, if you have a chauffer)<ul><li><a href="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/8241/side_34.jpg">Side View</a></li></ul>

Default Oyster vs. North Blue

I was struggling with this same choice: Oyster Grey vs. Northern Blue. Started out with an Oyster Grey order, but switched to Blue for a few reasons:

1. In direct sunlight, the Oyster actually appeared to have flecks of purple/lavender in it, which I didn't find to my taste
2. The Northern Blue, being slightly lighter in color than the Oyster, will stay 'cleaner looking' between washes
3. Frankly, I'm tired of white, black, silver and grey cars. Looking forward to having something different for a change.

So I've got a Northern Blue with Sabre interior and 18in wheels on order for Aug delivery. Good luck with your choice, and thanks for the great pics.

Default saw one in chicago today

very striking car. of course my wife thought it was 'blaw' looking, but she's not the target market (hell, she drives an Element).

my dad has been thinking about an audi since he drove mine one time...i've gotta convince him that THIS is his ride!

Default You could build on a house on those wheel clerances

I can't wait for the "sport" setting to come to the U.S.

I did notice how the "dynamic" setting worked while at the Chicagoland motor speedway. It is the lowest setting, and I think is speed sensitive. It does not look like that at a stand still with it in "dynamic".

The guys with the allroads know how to "trick" the system with negative inputs or something of the sort to lower it and keep it that way.

Somebody who gets one in Chicago, we'll have to play with it. Wonder if the Ross-Tech software will talk to it.

That would be awesome! If not, Uwe will have to start writing code! All new Audi's will run on the same code.

Default What does everybody think of the carpet?

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/8241/interior_32.jpg"></center><p>As I mentioned a week or so ago, it appears the carpet is not as fine as a weave as present Audi's have.

It's more like the MB carpet, which is incredible carpet.

This picture really shows the carpet, it's a larger weave.

What do you think of it?
