Default Won't make it to Audi Nationals unfortunately.

4 years ago I would have been all over it. Now I have a 2yr old and a 4yr old. I can't be gone that long and its to much driving around for them.
Actually the track even I"m doing is here in Spokane and is on Aug 11th. It was impromptu, wasn't planning on tracking the S8 but I have a friend with an LS Powered Porsche 944 that is a dedicated track car that is coming in to run it and I though I may as well join him. I'm ordering some Pads (Pagid RS-29 Yellow's I think) and new Bilstein's in prep for that event. Needed the shocks anyways. Rest of the car is in good shape.

Enjoy the event though! I looked at the schedule. You will have a blast over here. I wish I could go, would be very fun.
Thanks for the comments.

Since I see that you're in Spokane, if you are coming to the ACNA national event in Tacoma in 2 weeks look me up. You're welcome to come for a ride to see how it feels. I'm part of the TTOA 2018 group that's driving over from St Louis to open the event.

Maybe not a B6 Bilstein, I see part number BE5-6678 and the B6 listed as BE5-6678-H0

Anyway super stiff and not fun on the local pothole farms.
I thought red ones were aftermarket but looks like they were oem factory installed as you say.

Where are you guys buying your Bilsteins from? FCP Euro has a "Kit" With the upper mounts and dust shields included but I can't seem to reach them on the phone.
Any other smaller Audi Only shops that carry them? I prefer the smaller companies when possible. I tried Pure MS but they don't seem to have a listing for the D2.

I did a mix of ECS Tuning, RockAuto, FCP Euro and a local Audi Dealer. I built my set over a period of time.

Good luck.

I searched for best prices and availability, so the shocks/struts came from PartsGeek, the front and rear installation kits from ECS Tuning, Bump stops from eEuroparts, upper rear mounts from the dealer.

Default Rear UPPER Shock Mounts

Anyone found these upper rear shock mounts or a kit to rebuild the OE?? pc

For that matter, do the old shock mounts go bad?

Other than the Audi Stealership, I've not found these 2 parts.. pc

They only come in Genuine Audi parts, no after market and you won't find Lemforder versions, either. They've been sold out for years. Link below.

When I replaced my rear shocks, I didn't replace my rear mounts. After the install I had a metal-on-metal rattle. I came to the conclusion that it was either a bad shock or worn out mount. So I replaced both and rattle was gone. The mount looked to be in good condition so it was probably the shock but all I cared was that the rattle was gone.

Good luck.

The stiff ride was resolved with new Lemforder CAs.

Good luck.
Where did you purchase the CAs?

Least expensive place I have found for Bilstein is AJUSA.com...That's where I ordered mine from but it did take 3 weeks to get to me...saved $100 on the fronts though...
