This board is a great source of info....
unfortunately I read the board after I have problems. So I just replaced my wiper transmission after it broke. It turnes out that one of the "pivots" siezed which led to one of the linkage arms breaking. After doing some searching here. I found enough posts that had I seen them before the actual breakage I might have recognized the syptoms. Oh well I found a used one for $100 and now know what to watch out for.
Another thing is the front pump of the transmission whine. I mistakenly self diagnosed it as a front pulley and decided it could wait until my mechanic got back from his mexico vacation. Well after driving with the whine for a few weeks I find out it is the front pump and after two fluid changes the niose is not going away. Looks like that one is going to be an expensive lesson. I think I will make another post asking for advise on what to do now.
Anyway, I have decided I will be hanging around here a whole lot more.

Re: Is it like a Jetson's car whine? Or is it like a PS pump whine?
Well I cant quite place the jetsons car whine. I would say it is similar to the PS pump though. turning the wheel doesn't affect it and the whine does go away or at least gets quiter as the car warms up.

Re: That does not sound good. I would do another fluid change with Mobil 1 synthetic and a bottle of
Thanks for that advice Tozo. Do you think it is too late and that the damage has already been done? Can just the front pump be replaced or am I looking at a complete rebuild?
