CD Changer Spare Magazine
I went to my Audi dealer today to get 1 or 2 additional 6 CD magazines for the stock CD changer. The parts guy quoted me $78.00 for ONE of these square pieces of plastic. It can't be worth more than $10. Does anyone have any idea where I can get these magazines that won't cost me a left one? (The owners manual mentions Alpine as the manufacturer of the CD changer, but I believe that the one in my car is an OEM Panasonic.)
Thanks

OEM Sony?
Mine is a Sony, no doubt. But your my be from another vendor, Audi use different vendors.
Check with your local car-stereo shack, they will probably recognize the magazine.

Or, Burn your own disks --
There are not a lot of full albums of which I would want every song continually available. So I unload the full resolution CD tracks to my computer, and put together selections where every song is a keeper. Half a dozen mix discs for the car equates to 20-30 albums for me. On some I even have different recordings of the same song -- for example the original release of Clapton's "White Room" (Live Cream volume I), the one from 24 nights, and the one from the Sheryl Crowe concert.

Re: CD Changer Spare Magazine
Thanks all for the suggestions and information. I must have an odd-ball early revision CD changer, because the magazine sold at the Audi site and on e-bay is not the same as the one in my car. The 3B0051179 magazine "fits CD players with part number: 4B0035111A, 4B0035111, 8N7035111A, 8N8035111A". My cd changer is PN 4D0035111APE, manufactured 10/96. The magazine (viewed from the side) is a perfect square (no curved surfaces) with a small 45 degree cutout in one corner that contains the white disk eject buttons. It is the stock CD changer- it has the Audi emblem on the front cover. Does anyone else have a CD changer like this, and are there any other ideas as to where to go for a magazine? I have asked at several car stereo places and they all give me the "we have never seen that one before" look. Am I $crewed or what?
Edit: The magazine shown at the Audi site looks like it is inserted into the right side of the changer with the disks ejecting out the left side- my changer is 180 degrees off- the magazine inserts into the left side of the changer and the disks eject out the right side. And no, my changer is not just upside-down.
