Computer Failure?

Have a 1999 A8 4.2L. After some heavy rains, various warnings started to show up in the message center: brake pads worn, low oil pressure, etc. Along with the low oil pressure, the tachometer remained at zero with the car running, and the climate control wouldn't work. Took the computer out, and indeed there was some water in the bottom of the plastic box they are all housed in. Cleaned the water out, opened the aluminum casing of the main computer...all appeared dry inside, no odd smells or burn marks on the circuit board. Some dampness in the two plugs closest to firewall. Cleaned these, put electrolytic grease on plugs, sealed everything up...car ran fine, tach works, no warnings. Next day, start car, check engine is blinking, car is running rough. Code returned in P1201, plus misfire in cyl. #1. Take ECU connections apart again, put everything back, car runs fine, cleared MIL, car runs great. Next start up, MIL is blinking again, car runs rough. Hours later, next start up, MIL is solid but car is running perfectly. Next startup, car runs rough again. This morning, car runs fine, MIL lit.

Is the computer junk? Something else? I checked the fuel injector at cyl 1, everything seems fine.
