Distance from the main shaft to transmission bell housing
Anyone know it for sure?
I finally got the new pump from Phoenix today and want to get my tranny in the car tomorrow. As Gabor suggested me to do I measured that distance when was taking the pump out but I never wrote it down! Was relying on my memory. A clutch assembly came out with the pump so I have to put it back in properly. I know for sure (100%) it is not 1 1/4", now I getting 1" and for some reason it makes me think it was 1 1/2", may be I wrong. Anyone here have a tranny laying around near by? Thanks.

You have one more clutch to go. Pull the shaft back just a little,
keep turning it and lightly push it forward at the same time. Now when you push it in, you can hear a soft noise. When it is in all away, you will hear a steel to steel noise. I can't measure it today, the shop is closed.

Now you need to do the same thing with the TC.
3 clicks. First click, the small shaft goes into the TC clutch. Second click, the stator goes on the pump housing shaft. Third click, the TC shaft engages to the pump gear. (that's when they broke your original pump gear)
