Is the economy hitting Audi dealerships?
Just had my A8L in to the dealer for the transmission cable recall. They did not appear busy at all. I did not have to wait at all to get an appointment, the dealership appeared slow (really slow). So as I walked around and looked at the inventory (including an $83,000 2009 A8L), it just seemed to me that the economy must be having a big impact for the Audi dealerships.

It's hitting them ALL. When Toyota and Honda are down
double digits it does not bode well for the rest of the industry.
Years and years of ez-credit, low interest rates, lazy or downright fraudulent lending practices, shrinking home values, rising fuel costs, crappy lease residuals, southbound stock market, disappearing 401(k)s, etc. etc.

Well, I'm in the market for a D3 for quite some time, Audi dealers are still asking astronomical prices for used cars, in fact one of them raised the initial price by a couple of thousends, believe it or not....

If you look around for a while, you'll find exactly what you are looking for
The price is in the dirt, you just need to find a clean one. Any used Audi that you buy at an Audi dealer is going to be the most expensive example around.

Right, I've also tried independent dealers and private parties, I'm comparing these prices with what I've paid for my 2001 A8L( bought from an Audi dealer !) and they're are not even close ! I guess the sales are in the dirt, so they hold on the prices with the hope that everybody will eventually buy them.

Maybe that's the case, what's even more interesting is that sales on e-bay are close to zero ( look at completed listings) they're relisting the cars ever and ever and looking at Cars. com and Autotrader cars are almost the same in the last couple of months, very few were sold....Maybe the used A8 values are going up like crazy and we don't realize it ! The good news is that my ( paid off ) 67000 miles 2001 A8 is running like a champ....
