FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE
VAG COM says my 2000 A8 L has a K 1 that has a "short to ground" and the car will not communicate to the VAG COM. Anyone ever seen this before? I would not even know where to look for the short.

reason I ask is a lot of the aftermarket radios will short the K line if installed improper ....
start at the OBD plug itself and go from there. bent or broken pin at the plug / wiring to the radio / wiring to the trunk mount navi / or it could be water in the ecu box. Open the box under the hood and check for wetness.

Any component not working?
Is this a new Nav Plus install? If so, slide it out, unplug it and then see if Vag Com can read the rest of the car.
My stock radio with a blown fuse causes no signal on the K-line.
