front brake rotor life

front brake rotor life
It's time to do front brakes on my 99 A8 (low brake pad light coming on), I have about 22,000 miles on them. Last time I replaced the rotors as well. My local mechanic says the rotors look fine and don't need to replace them, and the car does stop smoothly, so the rotors do not seemed warped. Is it common to get two brake jobs out of rotors?

Yes, at least two
If you replaced them 22K ago, you shouldn't need to replace them again. I wouldn't turn them either, but I would take them off and have them sanded down with a DA sander to break the wear patterns and the rust at the outer edges.
It's child's play..... :-)

I am in the same boat... 99 A8Q Does not stop smoothly...(more)
I have 25k on the car (total) I should be able to turn the front rotors once, and put new pads on. What upgrades can I do to get braking response of my smaller Audi. SS brake lines, rotors, pads etc. Thanks.
