Default fuel filter change

I am going to change my fuel filter today. Any tips ? I believe someone said it's underneath in front of the passenger side wheel ? Mine is a 2000.

Thanks

The filter is located under the passenger side floor in front of the rear tire. You will need to jack the car using the rear passenger jack point. Use a good floor jack and use a jack stand for safety. Remove the plastic cover you will see covering the area in front of the tire. It is held by several small bolts and one plastic quick connect at the wheel well liner. The filter is behind the plastic liner. The connections are banjo connectins at each end of the filter. Use the right size wrench to hold the hex shoulder of the filter and a second wrench to loosen the banjo bolt fitting. Good luck.

Default It's done...

If you haven't changed your fuel filter yet,
it's a really quick change. Took me about 25
mins start to finish and I had a slight leak I had to contend with. couple of hints:

1) Take the gas cap off as it lessens the pressure in the system

2) expect some gas to leak out so have a small pan and rags handy.

3) Check to make sure you have the right filter
before taking out the old one

4) check for leaks before putting the plastic pan back on

Why Audi is not recommending changing these is beyond me...
