fuel injection harness plugs
Did valve cover gaskets R&R today (spark plugs too) and noticed both (i'm guessing here)
fuel injection harness plugs (above center of the valve covers) are cracked.
Anyone know of a source or vendor, rather than the typical (dealership) path?

Those should be your knock sensor connectors (green on my '01). Have never seen a source for that exact plug.
Supply-wise, it's 2 parts that are integral with the knock sensor and the engine wiring harness...not a separate Audi part. A cracked housing shouldn't affect good contact...not really subject to "the elements" considering it's location. The male & female electrical connections are just contained within the plug and don't totally depend on the plastic housing to maintain a snug fit.
Don't know where, off hand, but a general automotive electrical supply vendor would likely have generic multi-plugs you might wire in yourself...maybe even a custom stereo installer..they deal with a lot of added in, non-OEM electrical connections.
If you have a problem with the connection, you'll be notified with a CEL and associated code. Those sensors are the main input to the ECM to constantly adjust ignition timing as advanced (powerful) as possible, depending on the true octane of your gasoline. Low octane = low power...knocking sensed and timing retard to eliminate it...less power.
