Group Buy Info & PICTURES: Philips 6,000K Bulbs vs. Stock S4 HIDs (BY S4MADMAN)
S4MadMan says, "Hi!" and wanted me to post this for him because, well, he can't post here:
read carefully, and if you have any questions, you can talk to s4madman..he's on AZ now.
First, some notes:
1) These photos were all taken by me and not retouched in anyway.
2) The Philips Ultinon 6,000Ks are BRIGHTER than the stock S4 HIDs as you can see from the pictures, especially at 20' away shining onto the garage door. Thanks to AluminouS4 for providing his beautiful home as a test bed.
3) Absolutely no problems with the Ultinon bulbs. Plug and play.
4) Much better contrast with the Ultinon. I could see much better.
5) The Ultinon's are not irritating at all. In fact, they don't look too special until you compare to other headlights. The stock S4 HIDs look like halogens in comparison.
6) The Ultinon's become a bit brighter and more purplish after 50 hours of use because it burns away a protective seal. The pictures here are only after 3 hours of use.
I have arranged a Group Buy price of: $300 + shipping through www.hids4less.com.
The bulbs come with a 5-Year Warranty!!! [:O]
Please contact Kyle at (401) 333-2840 or e-mail: kylelincourt@mtc-Lighting.com and tell him you would like the Boston Audi Group Stage II Philips Ultinon 6,000K Upgrade Group Buy for $300.
You deal directly with Kyle at HIDs4Less (owned and operated by MTC Lighting). I do not make any commission nor receive any kick backs. I am just trying to help everyone out. []
Details:
Philips Ultinon 6,000K HIDs, D2S 35 Watt

Your last picture is how I use the bulbs, one of each. The blue light is an adjustment you have to make, running one of each gives the best of both light sources for me and my wife.

Much debate in the S4 forum, and the conclusion ...
.
seems to be that the stock S4 4300oK HID bulb puts out 3200 Lumens, while the 6000oK bulb, 2400 Lumens.
The Philips 6000oK bulb is certainly more blue, but actually dimmer.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/719579.phtml">S4 forum x-post</a></li></ul>
