Head Lights Dont work

Head Lights Dont work
Last night was driving in the snow was lots of fun and all lights worked great, today went to get in the car and noticed my head lights do not work, Fuses, Bulbs all ok the dash has an X over a bulb
side lights, Fog lights and pass light works ok just main or dipped beam dont and when I put full beam on ( push the leaver on so main beam stays on constant also wont work any more.
I have ordered a Manual but really use the car in the dark allot and was wondering if this could be a relay problem or somthin ? I dont even know where it is if it has one
Any one able to help ?

I was thinking of running a wire from the side lights to each of the main beam, as a temp measure till Im able to determin what the problem is but I dont know what damage I would do to any electronics like the system check

Ok Ive tried all I can and ended up calling an Auto Electrician to find the Fault, so im now skint, I couldnt afford for the guy to stip it and clean the connectors as it seems to involve removing the steering wheel and airbag, Is this an easy job to replace ? and any one know where I can get parts from apart from the dealer ? I dont wonna be stuck like this again for lights so might be better just replacing the switch.

dipped head light
Okay so I've just spent the last hour reading a number of peoples problems with their headlights on Audi. Same as mine.....flickering light, then it goes out, I turn them off and on, and BAM it works again till the next time. Audi wants me to drive there when the light is on.....ummm in the dark, no thanks. Now I've read that many of you have paid between $600 and $1500 trying to fix this same problem, and so far I have not read a good outcome? Audi does not seem to know what to fix it I guess...I don't know. Here is a thought; file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If enough people do this, it may result in a mandatory recall by Audi. I just filed mine in hopes of a fix.

Im a new guy. I must say that i recently purchased an A8 and love the car best driving and preforming car i have ever owned.
I agree that its probable a broken ignition switch. If i remember correctly the turn signals also dont work. If the key switch is not in right position the large load relay wont activate.
