Help....

A few questions for on my A8, 3.7L, V8, 1996.
1. what is the minimum thickness of the front brake pads.
2. can i reset the service indicator with out software?
3. my alarm went off at 3Am, but only the drivers side front and side indicators were flashing? what does this mean?

1. My guess: about 7mm->replace 2. For sure: Not possible. 3. Guess: some lights burnt out?
