Help - How to replace windshield washer pump
Remove air cleaner cover and air cleaner.
Remove the bolt along the upper edge of the reservoir. Disconnect the hoses and connectors from the pumps. One is the headlight washer pump and one is the windshield. Remove the reservoir from the engine compartment. The problem is that this procedure didn't work on my 97. There is a bracket welded to the fender just above the filler neck that prevents lifting the reservoir to get to the pump. We ended up removing the fender well behind the front wheel. This allowed the reservoir to be turned so that the neck could pass under the bracket. It wasn't easy to reach everything to get it back together again. This is one of Audi's great maintenance designs.
