Help - Strange clattering noise on startup...

Default Second on the cat noise, mine does this to and does not throw a fault.

However I had a cam chain break on my A8 a few months back and replaced two heads. If I where you I would check both the cat's and the chain tensioners.

Default Does this apply to 40v motors? If so, what is the fix?

My '00 A8 does this at startup since about 75k miles. It now is over 150k and has not gotten any worse. It also makes a short clatter if you rev the engine past ~1000 rpm on the way up and it does it again at ~1000 rpm on the way back down when you let off the throttle. This occurs no matter how quickly or slowly you rev it.

I'm on my third 40v engine and they all make the "rattle" noise @1,200 rpms. no change w/mileage

My S-car doesn't do it at all, only the A. I wonder what the difference is?
