How do you test transmission electronics with VAG-COM?

This is how you can check the clutch F if is blown fur sure.
Disconnect the TCU, start the car, it will go into mechanical limp mode with no PRND432 on the IC. Put it in reverse, it will apply full pressure on the reverse clutch. If the car doesn't move, the clutch F is gone.

After unplugging the TCM, I got three reverse engagements with a bad clutch F seal
My reverse (and engine braking in Tip 1st) failed last year. I tired unplugging the TCM before ordering up a rebuilt transmission.
The first time I engaged R with the TCM unplugged, it worked! Evidently the higher pressure pushed the seal into working, or kept up with its leakage. The second time, it took a second to engage, then worked. The third time, it slowly engaged and slipped. This mirrored how it failed the first time, with the TCM plugged in and the transmission operating at lower pressure.
So if reverse works after unplugging the TCM, try it a few more times -- destroy the seal the rest of the way, if that's what it is.
