I'd like to ask my A8 friends an A6 4.2 purchase question, since I trust your judgement.
Looking at a 2002 A6 4.2 (black/black)with 23,000 miles; all options except NAV and warm weather package; Audi Assured, $34,600.
Also, 2003 A6 4.2(ming blue/platinum)with 39,000 miles; all options except Parktronic (?); Audi Assured, $35,500.
Both have Sport Pkg, Prem Pkg, Cold Pkg
The tradeoffs seem to be:
2003: 10 months more on factory warranty, NAV, 16,000 more miles, newer model year.
2002: 10 fewer months warranty, no NAV, 16,000 fewer miles, $900 less.
Happy with either color. Comments, Advice?? Is 39,000 miles too much on the '03??
Thanks much.
PS: replacing older A6, keeping A8L!!

Re: What's Nav worth to you?
Negotiate lower price on 2003 car. Miles are above average, and they 2003 can't have a huge premium over a 2002 car.
Ifr u do 20k miles a year, the 2003 car will be covered under assured warranty until 100k. So the 10 months plus 2 years will be great protection.
If you do even more miles (80k within warranty span), get the 2002 car.

These are good comments. Adding NAV to the 2002 is worth
considering. I find it handy on my A8L. We won't put 10,000 miles a year on it, so either car would have good coverage with Assured. The '03 has ten months more on original warranty. We'll hit the time deadline before the mileage. The mileage issue is interesting. Is 39,000 too much foir the '03? Maybe not, if well maintained. Is 23,000 too few for the '02? Did it sit? Driven on short trips?

Hey Paul, if I buy the 2002 A6 4.2 can you provide me with
some wiring diagrams, instructions, etc. Where does one buy Nav+? What gets removed from the dash? What is CAN wiring? Does all required wiring need to be added, or is there any factory installed wiring that is applicable?

Just go to the Navigation web site, it's all there
