Buyer profile is considerably different between A4/A6 and A8
I agree that the new design is a departure from the traditional "stealth" Audi styling.
Buyers of A4 and A6 seem to be a different profile than the A8. Audi marketing definitely makes a distinction. They must have done a lot of research with test groups that represent potential buyers before investing in these designs.
And I'm really at a loss with the rapid trickle-down-effect from high-end cars to the mainstay (Xenon lights, leather interiors, tiptronic transmissions, nav. systems, wood grain trim, premium wheels, etc.) Ford, Chrysler, even KIA have these features now....so what is going to differentiate luxury from common...the moniker?
