You might try a 'Great Lakes' forum.
You would then at least have all of MI plus Chicago, W Wisconsin (with the new croww lake ferry service to Muskegon) and Northern Indiana and Ohio.
That would probably bring sufficient participation...
You could still call it the Michigan Forum though!
