Default Just bought A8 on eBay, anyone know about this car WAUFL44D52N000472

I've been looking at this car since Saturday, and it's by far the best A8 I've seen, and I love the 18" hollow spoke sport wheels and new Dunlop SP9000 tires. If anyone knows the history of this car, good or bad, please let me know, as I can get out of it now and only loose about $300. It is a one owner car, always serviced at Clair Audi in Boston, and all service records are checked off and stamped in the manual, every 10k-12k. It also has a spotless carfax report (whatever that's worth), that shows the mileage of all service visits, and agrees with the dealer records and the book. The timing belt has not been replaced, so I'm going to get Clair Audi to do it before I pickup the car, as well as the oil cooler lines that the selling dealer recomended. The dealer Audi for You, has a spotless reputation on eBay, and 5 years worth of 100% positive feedback, as well as encouraging comments from anyone who has bought a car from them. Talking with them was equally impressive, and he said this car is one of the best cared for A8's he's seen, it has no rattles, squeaks, or clunks, and he has not seen a check engine light in the week he's been driving the car. So, I jumped at it, as I hadn't expected to get a 2000 model for this price, let alone a 2002. Did I mention I love the wheels! Now to sell my Passat and the Allanté, my insurance agent loves me enough as it is.

Thanks for any info/comments,

Phil Calhoun

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4528757900</a

Default Very nice!

Car looks great, great price, and with the timing belt and a few other fixes, you should be good to go!

Those guys use the audipages.com checklist so you know it must be good! :-)

Congrats!

Default That was a great buy! An 02 A8 for Toyota money. Prices are going too low.

I saw that car as well and I thought about it myself for a spare car.. Although it is not an L and it's missing some big options plus the miles are high, it does have the new for 02 style 18 inch rims and must be the lowest price we have seen as of today for a 2002 A8.. One of the best buys in the world in the used car field for a low price.. What would you rather drive? A brand new Toyota or Ford Taurus ect, or a 3 year old A8 with higher miles for about the same price or maybe even less money than the Toyota ect.. It really stinks that these cars drop so much in value.. It makes me wonder what my 01 A8L is really worth.. I ordered mine new with every single option and it now only has 16,000 miles on it.. I only use it a few times a month, otherwise, it sits in the garage.. I bet it would be hard to get $35,000 for my car and it is still as new.. I do not even know how the Audi would be in the snow because it does not go out in the winter! I know, how silly is that? Best of luck with your new toy!

Default She's a beaut Clark...

I'd say you scored a sweet looking A8.

I'd figure on a timing belt change and tranny fluid/filter swap if it hasn't been done already.

I think that dealer is a member of AudiWorld.

Default That's funny RossD, "new" was in many posts. Did you buy yours *NEW* ?

I like that Ross.. We have to find humor everyday in our lives.. Yes, I went *NEW* but I still have a long way to go in car payments.

Default Just poking a little fun; glad to see you have a sense of humor.

Bought mine on eBay like Mr. Phil here; got a similarly good deal, too. It's all good!

Default I envy you guys who saved money! Your smarter than I was.

I'll tell you something Ross, after seeing all the great buys everyone here seems to be getting on used A8's, in a way, I should have waited a few years and did the same thing! You guys are smarter that I am! I bought it *NEW* because when I first saw the *NEW* for 01 L, I just lost it and had to put myself in debt for years just to drive this silly car.. I never really had a nice *NEW* car before this one.. I was not even shopping for a car at the time.. I guess it's just BIG AUDI LUST! I still feel the same way everytime I get into this car almost 4 years later! I love this car and it's for keeps.

Default How about me? I thought I got an awesome deal on a 97

Almost 4 years ago I bought it, paid $25.5K....I don't think it's worth $13K now.
