Just did the Tip trans recode . . .
at the same time as my mechanic replaced the MAF. Totalled $260. which included diagnostics tracking down the CEL and a new air filter.
This shop runs $88. per hour for labor. I think the dealer is ~ $66. but I just don't feel the love there. Don't have much confidence in their level of service / care. It's odd that I feel that way as I really like my VW dealer's service.
Will this recode affect my gas milage significantly ? Lemmee know what you guys have found with yours.
