just got back from a 10 day road trip in the S8..........
this is not my usual/daily driver as it's my wife's car, so i don't get much seat time, but..
WOW, what a pleasurable cruising car this is...
we went from toronto>philadelphia>baltimore>new york and then back to toronto - about 4,300km in total.
there were many instances when i had a chance to open it up and the car did not disappoint. the sweet spot is in the 160-200 range (that's all my nerves would allow - it's a cop thing).
the car handled really well even with 10 days worth of luggage, shopping, stroller and 2 adults and a baby.
the seats and HVAC system were awesome - i never felt fatigued even though i drove the entire distance myself (except for one 2-hour stint that my wife drove).
the car was whisper quiet the whole time.
we got an average of about 730km on a tank of gas - not bad considering my wife was filling up once a week and she was only getting about 450km in day-to-day driving.
you can drive this car hard and still not have to concentrate to much - i kinda like that.
we saw lots of audi's in NY state - a few S8's even...
and to think, we almost ended up renting a mini-van for this trip (yikes)!!!
regards.

<center><img src="http://www.pleasurepoint.org/Misc/S8_small.jpg"></center><p>My sweetie and I just got back from a 1400 mile trip to San Diego, and the S8 performed flawlessly.
The nav system found routes that we never would have guessed, and got us to our destination in a little over 6 hours, averaging about 83 MPH down I-5 (Posted 75 MPH).
It drives like a dream, and based on the amount of snoring coming from the passenger seat, it's comfortable too.
