Default Just Want to Verify

I'm getting ready to fix the transmission output seal that has been leaking on me, and I figured while I have the exhaust down, I might as well replace it! I had PaulW give a little advice previously, just wanted to verify that no one makes a full Cat back system for our cars correct? I just wanted to put that to rest before paying fabrication costs to put 2.25 or 2.5" stainless on custom to the supersprint Muffler I'm buying. Any thoughts or help?

Thanks,
Paul

I don't know of anyone, but these pictures might help your shop of Sven's S8:

Default Here's Sven's final install post on Tyresmoke ...

He went from the S8 exhaust to ... a custom exhaust without cats or crossover to ... the custom exhaust with cats and an H-pipe crossover to ... finally replacing the H-pipe with an X-pipe.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tyresmoke.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=1,20,22,25,27,3&amp;Number=246410 &amp;page=1&amp;view=collapsed&amp;sb=5&amp;o=&amp ;fpart=1">X-pipe Fitted</a></li></ul>

Once again you guys prove why this forum is such a positive thing. Interested to hear how it sounds! Paul, did you do an X or H pipe on yours. I guess I could skip over to audipages, but just thought I'd ask?! Thanks for the pics, I'm going to pro-imports here in Maryland to get a quote on doing the work, I'll let you know what it turns out. I believe at one point Pro-imports was a sponsor here, are they still?

Thanks again guys,
Paul

Default Haven't had one made for my car

I still have the original H pipe installed. And mine is shapped differently from Sven's.

Don't know when you'll be doing this.....but if you have the same configuration exhaust as mine (it rises up right after the H), and they want to build two X pipes and fit both to your car.....I would buy the second one.

That would be very easy for me. From my understanding, it will free up a little more HP.

I'm going on vacation tomorrow for a week, when are you going to have this done?

Well money wise I can do it anytime. I haven't been to Pro-imports before, so I don't know how much they are going to charge for the work. If it's reasonable, I have to wait the week or so for my muffler to get here, then I'm on vacation from the 31st of this month through the 10th of April. To verify, someone has told you they want to make 2 versions of the X pipe, one as the template, and the one that actually goes on your vehicle? If that's the case, I will make sure they do it that way, and I will make them aware I'm interested in the X pipe to send to you.

Nevermind, was on the phone while I typed. I will ask how much to build two that fit the car and let you know. The car is a 98 standars wheel base, so, I should have the same bump as you, but I will verify and let you know. I'll see if they can quote over the phone if they have done it before, otherwise, i doubt I'll get it in before vacation.

OT for this thread, but, do you have any other sources for the Nav Plus C head units? Ebay hasn't panned out for the past few weeks. Not in a terrible rush, but would at least like to get my hands on the head, since the rest of the stuff will take quite some time to put together anyway!

Thanks,
Paul
