Key program
Hey guys
i have this funny key that i havent seen in any of the posts adn i cant even find it anywhere on Ebay
i want to post a pic of it...how do i add pics to my message?
I only have a single button my key
Questions
1) is this the valet key or the original one
2) if i was to buy a new switchblade key with lock unlock and trunk releae would i be able to program it to work?
3) can i program this key alone without the use of another key
4) how can i program the windows, sunroof to open using hte key- convenience open (currently have convenience close)

You should be able to buy a new switchblade key and have it work. They are expensive. Mine was around $180 from the dealer. I think you need your exsisting key in the ignition to program the new one.
You'll need Vag com to program the convience features, I believe audipages has the procedure.

Don't know. My valet key and the all-plastic wallet key both have no buttons.

Audipages has a <a href="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/Body/remotecoding.html">Key Fob Procedure</a> for the '97 A8. I don't know if this works with later models. If not, only the dealer can program the new key.
