latest tiptronic mod idea
seems to me that it wouldn't be hard to modify the tip shift to work off the steering wheel controls even when the transmission is not in tip mode - like the new cars do.
anyone got the time to look at it, and save me the bother? :-)

Somebody emailed me about this recently
I have to pull it out of my 350 message inbox, but he has an 01 A8L I believe. It was not coded to 00032, it has the 01002 or something like that.
He recoded it to 00032 and now when he's in drive and presses the tip switches, it automatically goes into tiptronic, and then he uses the shifting, and after 15 seconds or so of not using the tip shifters on the steering wheel, it shifts back to "D".

Nice - it took me a few days to understand what you meant
I read it a few times, then went on a business trip, then I realized what you were talking about. I will have to add it to the audipages write up.
It only works if you have the tip buttons on the steering wheel I take it.

yep, seems so... pretty cool for instant lane changes on the freeway
just punch a tip button, gear down one or 2 gears, then jump...
pretty fun watching people's surprise when a big black A8L jumps past them, and the driver does not even flinch as he blasts by..

doesn't work - either 00101 or 01101...
the standard code is 00101, and the tip will accept 01101, but i cannot detect the difference between the 2. certainly no tip activation from the steering wheel regardless.
