LLTek S8 Cold Air Induction ?'s
Just picked up a 2003 S8, I already ordered a Milltek exhaust and had a few questions about the LLtek CAI. I assume it utilizes the stock airbox, if not, please correct me. What external diameter is the tubing, or what part# K&N Filter does it come with? The reason I ask is my mechanic said the K&N materials will interfere with the MAF over time. I plan on switching out the K&N for an ITG Maxogen air filter which worked very well for me on my 2001 S4 Avant. LLtek was closed when I called and I would like to order both parts first thing Monday so they will hopefully arrive at about the same time.

http://www.itgairfilters.com/airfilters.asp?section=maxogen</a

It depends on you.
K&N specifically states that you MUST NOT soak too much filter oil into the fabric. Over-oil the filter, and you /may/ ruin your MAF.
Don't over-oil the filter, and you will probably be fine.

Thanks, but I've had more consistent long term
performance with the ITG in the past and was planning on going that route anyways as it doesn't require as frequent cleaning to perform well compared to a K&N.
