Default MOre issues

I just got my car back from the garage and although i sent it in to change teh brake pads it came back with other problems...

The car seems very lethargic and and very slowly build up speed while driving. I've even floored the accelerator and usually the tranmission should drop a gear and pick up but all it does it cut off the engine for a second and then come back to life... i cant understand if it has a fuel problem or a transmission one or an exhaust one?

Ive jsut recently changed the Speed Sensor as well...can it be connected?

Second problem is hat the brakes dont hold really well... i was told that beacuse hte pads were new they weret holding but after a few kms they should be fine... ?

Default Have you ever replaced your O2 sensors?

Mine livened-up considerably after I did that.

Also, is your intake manifold actuator working properly?

Those are two things I'd check.

On the brakes, yes, they need to be seated in, but that doesn't take very long.

Brakes suck on the D2. Changing to slotted drilled rotors helped alot.

Really? My 2001 A8 brakes are great! and IMO drilled/slotted rotors are just bling.

Default Brakes do take a while to bed in, during which time braking is poor...

Bed-in should be done properly for good results.<ul><li><a href="http://www.pagidusa.com/bedding_in_procedure.htm">Pagid bed-in procedure</a></li></ul>

Default Not necessarily. The sensors seem to just gradually degrade.

On the manifold actuator, dig around in the Bentley, there's a procedure for checking it. If you can't find it, let me know, and I'll look for it. It's not on this machine.

Default Break in suggestions vary a lot...also, pad selection is critical for good braking...

I had some type of green painted pads on my fronts and they sucked, inf act they gummed up the rotors. I changed to Akibono Pro-ACT and it has been great ever since.
