2001 S8

Seeing who has the most and fewest miles on their D2.

I have 126,400 on my 2001. I'm most likely in the middle of the pack for mileage.

What does everybody else have?

The blue '98 in the foreground has 218K, and the red '97 in the background has 162K on it. We changed the timing belts (and related parts) last summer, and both are good to go for a few more years.



For the record, the red '97 had the transmission already replaced (with a Jasper unit) before we purchased it; and the blue '98 is still rocking the original transmission.

Audinutt - 373,000! Nice job keeping her running. How's it for rattles? These car are built like tanks but 373,000 miles is a lot of wear-n-tear.

No rattles, or odd noises. I've rebuilt the entire front end, done a transmission, driveshaft, cv boots, and a lot of other wear and tear items.
but it's still runs fantastic.

2002 S8 bought with 120k 2 years ago now 128k.
Did shocks and control arms,brakes,preparing to do timing belt,coolant pipe and fuel pump this summer.
I hope to keep it another 10 years at least because its a great car for the money.

Agreed! I think we have our highest mileage winner!

That said, I'm prepared for the day it does go. I have a 2001 A8 in the garage that I'm parting out, and I'm setting the trans aside to keep as a backup.

Here you go. Just joined the forum and finally back in an Audi. First ever Audi was a 2002 All Road - manual. Always dreamed of taking down an S8. FINALY did. Bought a 2003 S8 a month ago. Has 85K on the clock. Fully garaged and Audi serviced since it rolled out of the showroom. I am second owner. Plan to keep it for 100K miles or more...
