Default My trans goes into limp home mode, but only under these conditions:

1. car is idleing in D
2. does not go to limp mode while driving.
3. Status quo when not in limp home mode.
4. pulling up to stop light, LHM (limp mode mode) engages as decel to about 2 mph.
5. restarting the engine resets, but need to drive away quickly or LHM comes back as the car idles.

I'm going to check and clean the F125 connector with some CRC today. I will be overnighting a VAG-Com Cable, as I don't have one.

Also- where is the TCU located? I cleaned a clogged drain next to the ECU yesterday, and wonder if the TCU connector may have some moisture in it.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

TCU is on the passenger side under the hood, under the mesh looking plastic.

Default no fluid change, no hunt, and no thump. I'm going to leave the fluid for now.

the Limp Home seems to be an electrical problem- it was on as I described this am, but since has gone away completely. (I've been running errands all morning).

I was hoping to troubleshoot it before it went away but no such luck. I'll bee cleaning TUC and F125 connectors this afternoon- I'll keep you guys posted on their conditions...

Any problems with reverse? Mirrors dipping when in reverse?

Low tranny fluid? I guess you'll have to wait to see the fault codes.
