New Guy
Hey Guys,
Kind of new here, but not really new to the Audi scene. I figured I would finally create an account and introduce myself. I picked up this 1998 A8 a while ago, and spent the last 6 months doing a pile of things to it. Primarily the timing belt, oil cooler pipe, struts, springs, brakes, 12 control arms, inner/out tie rods, intake manifold gaskets, breather hoses, among some other things...
This past Wednesday it passed the smog test, fully licenced, insured and on the road! Just in time for winter
here are some photos, initial acquisition in June:
During its overhaul. The S said "**** that ****, leave me out of this!"
The coils were the only piece that actually came out in 3 or 4 pieces without my assistance :S
Finally moving!
This stuff is the bane of my existence!
It is still all over the front bumper and mirrors... ohhhh man, probably the worst part of the 6 month overhaul, actually, it was. I can say that it was certainly worse than stripped caliper bracket bolts, seized suspension bolts, oil cooler re/re, etc.
Still have a laundry list of things to do it, but finally enjoying the fruits of my labour.
Cheers,
Blake
