Just a note about the part played by the engine speed sensor ("crank position sensor"):
When the speed sensor fails (or doesn't detect engine rotation), it will cut electrical ground to the fuel pump relay.
When the speed sensor fails (or doesn't detect engine rotation), it will cut electrical ground to the fuel pump relay.
