HELP ME PLEASE. I DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS YET.
Ok, i get in my 97 audi a8 today, and when i turn the engine on, the whole car starts shaking, and my check engine light starts blinking, i heard somehting circulating of some sort from the engine i beleive, so i turned the car off and am currently awaiting a tow. Is this a timing belt problem? if it is its about to snap i think. the whole car was shaking. Does this usually happen right before a timing belt failure? i have 106,300 miles on my car currently. what else could this be if its not an about to snap timing belt? help!

wont know the codes for a couple of days
my uncle thinks this mite be a broken valve, could this be a possibility besides an about to snap timing belt? i mean i heard a clicking noise coming from under the hood when the car was running, so i immediately turned the car off and didnt risk anything so i had it towed to my mechanic, it sounded like it could be a belt but im not for sure. the possibilities?
