OK, so the trunk latch micro switch is adjusted to eliminate the dash
"open trunk" symbol when closed, but the horn when setting the alarm still is not working. There was a small broken plastic piece within the latch mechanism, but could not determine what it did or didn't do. The micro switch seems to work without this appendage. I had hoped this switch would also send a good closed signal to the alarm mechanism. Horn works when alarm is triggered but not when setting. No horn when setting is an indication of trunk open. What am I missing?

Well, the micro switch turns on/off, and that turns the lights on/off and...
makes the "open trunk" symbol go away, but still no horn when setting the alarm. Either something is wrong with the alarm system or the little blue tip means something. The switch is on or off. I guess I will live with no alarm/arm horn sound. I am not going to dig into the alarm system!
