It was used to showcase the ASF technology back before the old A8 came out
This particular car also had a TDI engine in IIRC. Also note the red interior in that car if you can see it. Audi later showed another ASF A8 in dark-red. That car actually had a prototype W12 engine in it back before 1994!

Delorean was brushed steel..This would be EXTREMELY ILLEGAL..
Like a 4000 lb version of the SUN rolling down the street, nobody would be able to look at it driving, except for side views at night.
