That was a hard shot! Probably can find the thing it hit!
Go to the dealer and try to find what they bumped with the edge of your door. Looks like it was something fairly solid. Should have marks on it too...

Here's another picture

The dealership is 300 miles away or else I'd be back there right now. That's a problem with a long distance deal. Maybe I'm just screwed.
Any advice appreciated. It is otherwise an awesome car.

The Gorilla (large Baboon) did that with signiff**** force
I can understand a little bump/knock, but hell, that would require some force.
They must have known about it since they would have detailed the car for you.
Score one for the bad guys. I cannot see how you will be able to prove it now it's off the lot and you drove it home.
Being 300 miles away I don't think they will see you as repeat business, so spending another dime on you is most likley not in the happy customer policy. Even if it was this fix would most likley be greater than the number of dimes they would spend.
You really need to be so careful checking the car before accepting it. On my new A8L i found a large paint chip in the side skirt (inside edge under the door which can only be casued by high heels getting in or out). I found it after I got it home. I'm living with it, but it does not make me happy.
