power steering high pressure lines......
first post in the new format.
i finally nailed down the source for my leak. i have hydraulic fluid leaking out from the high pressure fluid lines that bolt into my steering rack. i looked at the procedure for replacing the rack, on audipages, and double checked that the fluid isn't leaking out of the rack boots. the line is wet looking, and although i can't see the exact point of leakage, i've actually witnessed it dripping off the banjo bolt. could be a seal in the bolt, too, but with the wetness further up the line, i think the line is leaking.
i did a search but couldn't find anyone actually having this same problem. is this an easy switch out, and do you replace the line all the way back to the reservoir? that looks like it might be easier than replacing the rigid portion close to the rack.
anyway, just wanted to check in to see if anyone had some pointers, and or good replacement part info.
thanks,
don
