Question about the rubber valve cover gaskets. Since they are rubber, what kind, if any,

Type of sealant should be used? Doesn't silicone deteriorate the rubber over time?

Permatex "High Tack", it comes in a can w/brush.

Mostly just to stick them down during fitting...
