That Red light must be the IR transmitting. It only goes on when you presst the button, right?

yeah but it doesnt happen any more...

i using Renata 386 batteries now

This is definitely the Infra-red remote key, same as mine. I need to find out how to program it to work though, because mine is not locking or unlocking remotely either. The owners Manual says that you must press the button then unlock the door manually. this is supposed to reset the programming but it doesn't work for me.
