Default The results are almost in......

Well, i have had the car since Sunday....WOW,me likey.
it handles well, moves up the power band nice and smooth, and when i hit the go-go pedal in a hurry it seems to move quickley...AGAIN,ME LIKEY!
ONE DISLIKE...THE BRAKES, coming from a BMW 540i6 M-Sport W/ an up-graded brake pkg. (drilled rotors, stainless lines and Porterfield R4S pads). I gotta say the the brakes are alittle less than what i have been used to.
Otherwise the car is awesome,Cashmere grey w/ dark brown almost "taupe" interior,ALL A8l options,Sirius radio tuner,Motorola HK100 Bluetooth handsfree unit.
The car is Almost perfect. And the transaction was about as pleasant as could be for an car purchased over the Internet.
More observations and pix to come.
One decision to make...
As you may have read as part of the deal the seller included 2 sets of rims....regular pie plates w/ Avon A/S tires and chrome pie plates w/ Falken Summer perf. tires.
I was going to sell the chrome ones b/c i did not think i would like the "bling",but now i think i do, so do other people. Any thoughts ( i will post pix soon).

Default There are brake upgrades available, so if you want better brakes, you can get them.

Congrats on the purchase, and I like the pie plates either way- both satin and chrome finishes look great! I'd keep both sets and swap them for summer/winter use (since the tires are alreadu there). I'd get a set of dedicated snow tires when the all season tires wear out (if you live in the snowbelt).

Default You can buy Big Brake upgrades for the A8, SS lines, etc .. just like your old Beemer.

and then you'll be quite satisfied.

Default Very true... A8 brakes really miss the mark...

I don't understand why Audi didn't use 4 pot brembros as standard equipment in the first place. A major blunder in my opinion. After owning a few Porsche and BMW the A8 brakes were clearly out classed. I did eventually install Porsche 4 pots with a custom bracket. The results are awesome and make a huge difference. You should upgrade and be sure to get aluminum hat rotors. I can tell you from experience the reduction in unsprung weight improves the ride quality.
