Rode around in my buddy's M the other day, the dark side sure is tempting

MMMmmm... 285/19 PS2.... tasty. Golden rule #1:
HP eats tread
smiles per mile?

Priceless

Kidding aside, I hear ya. Unless you're heel'd enough to keep funding the 285 habit (ka-CHING), it'd get old. I do like 20k / yr. and that'd be a lotta rubber.
tho
not like der //S8 uses 'much' less - once you factor in the combined wear on summer / snows. Balances 'it' out. Some.
Regardless
that car is **** AND nipples!

I had an '01 M5. Awesome modern day muscle with great engine. The problem was...
I still needed a winter car. Instead, I opted for a 993 for summer and S8 for winter duty. The S8 is better overall but that V8 with 6 speed is oh so sweet.

The M in any of its incarnations can be a tough DD .
I would never use my M5 for that. FWIW , I feel the same about any older 6 spd S4....rowing gets old in traffic and errand running.
Hard to beat the D2 S8 for an all purpose land missile. IMHO, its the one Audi platform that will always look fresh and in style. Can't quite say the same for Audi's other pre-04 models which are looking somewhat dated and stodgy. The S8's stance and presence is primo !
Whenever I see one in the wild it always catches my attention.
Hoping to pick mine up by mid-summer. Perfect stable mate for the M : p
