S8 exhaust

And here's that same exhaust with an X-pipe installed
On track at Mid-Ohio I measured a MAF of 216 g/sec on Paul's A8 and 253 g/sec on my S8. After the X-pipe install, Sven measured 293 g/sec on his S8.

I had a sport muffler fitted and it was too loud so I went back and
the guy simply flared the pipe end where it went into the chrome tailpiece and now the sound is a nice deep throat when under load but no drone in car at all-very pleased

I believe it's measured under 01-Engine > Group 3 Measuring Block, but
I used this.

You could...hack off the rear muffler section and pipe it straight from the resonators back!
Its not too loud either. It drones a little on the highway, but I'm used to loud cars.
Yes, a little sacrifice on the luxury end, but nothing beats the faces of muscle car guys in parking lots or on the road when they hear my car!

I'm been thinking about that plus the x-pipe.
The x-pipe actually quiets the exhaust the bit, and the exhaust pulses become equally spaced ... like from a flat crank Ferrari V8 :-)
