S8 no speed limit test drive.

To get the specifics of check out my review on the A6/S6 boardn AllRoad and TT.
The S8 is certainly superior to its competition the S500 and 740iL, can't say on the S55 since I have not driven one.
Unlike the S6 where I think other cars might be a better purchase, the S8 is the flagship car to have, no doubt about it.
Yes it feels heavy as an A8 but faster, better handling helps sustain high speeds for long periods of time. An hour just was not enough deat time in this luxury sedan.
When a PGA event turns into an AudiFest, thenit becomes worthwhile.
Look out for Frissen (that would be me) posting in the other boards about this event.

S8 no speed limit test drive. Part II

As you might already noticed by the pic we had other S's on the test, well we had all current S's available, I drove every single one of them and my professional racing license permited me jointhe no speed limit bandwagon.
We pushed the S8's to the limit, simply worth every penny.

Re: S8 no speed limit test drive.
Glad to hear you liked the S8 over the Merc and BMW as those were the two I was comparing before ordering my S8. I still wonder about how stiff the ride is and with the small rotors in the rear is the braking adequate for this size car?

Brakes ok, ride ok...
The car feels well balanced, although we got the cars with faded brakes. The ride is not stiff, nor bouncy or floaty. Much better than A8.
Why did I like it more than the 740 or S500, well, it is more of a drivers car than the other two. But I missed the 740 16 way adjustable seats. For certain I was expecting a 3 spoke steering wheel where instead I found a 4 spoke, then I missed the lovely wood/leather steering wheel from the S500. For the money the S8, for looks the S8, engine S8, drive S8, then the S8 would be my choice.
Test done in Puebla Mexico, home of Audi Mexico, located within the VW plant home of the Beetle.
