Tired of the lumbar adjuster being stuck where it is?
Head rest just makes noise but goes nowhere?
then here you go-
There are tons of pictures- on the link in my last post there.
It's not totally easy, but the repair at the dealer was above a thousand dollars- my way costs part of one wooden match stick- and works.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audizine.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5023&FORUM_ID=8&CAT_ID= 3&Topic_Title=How+to+repair+failed+seat+functi ons+in+A8&Forum_Title=3%2E+A8%2FS8">link to az post</a></li></ul>

Great Fix...anyone know how the rear seat comes apart to do same?
Great post Thanks!! Great info for the fix...my fronts are fine but both rear seats have this issue...does anyone know the details in gaining access to the rear seat motors for the same repair?
Thanks!

I cheated and called the dealer-
When I first set out to do this, I was going to buy a part from a crashed car- but I couldnt find a crashed a8 nearby, so I took the servo apart..
Maybe if you call the dealer and ask how to get to the insides of the back of the rear seat, they will tell you.
I just called my dealer, and told them I needed to get into the seat back- lucky for me they always seem willing to tell me stuff. Other times I asked how to get my a6 bumper off and how to get the credit card holder out.. The trim and fit of the audis is hard to figure out without help.

The rear procedure was posted a long time ago
The rear seat comes out much easier than the front seat from my understanding. If it's like the old type 44's, the bottom cushion comes out, then the back seat is held in place and is pulled up and out.
On the road right now so I don't have my Bently, but here is the post from happycow who did it sucsessfully.

Re: The rear procedure was posted a long time ago
Thanks Paul,
I think you are correct about it being like the type 44's. After the bottom cushion comes out there should be two bolts that hold the rear seatback cushion at the lower edge..then pulling/sliding the rear seatback upwards disengages the upper hook mounts. Hopefully, this will work and it seems it would be easier than the front seatbacks...
I'll let you know when I try it...
