Service indicator
I just had may A8 seviced by a non-franchised dealer i.e. new oil, brake pads, etc. Then I realised that the digital odometer display flashes 'service in 1'. Would a non-franchised garage be able to reset the display ? Or do I have to live with the display until I send the car back to an Audi service centre ?

Re: Service indicator
Any service shop worth anything should have the tools necessary to reset your service indicator (OBDII). The hardware and software to turn a computer into a tool to do this is only $200, so the shop should have one. If you are interested in doing this yourself (and many other things as well) I have had good luck with the Vag.com system from www.ross-tech.com. Also, check out the Audi World Tech article at https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec.html

You will need....
....either the ross-tech software as mentioned above or the VAG 1552 tool that the Audi dealer uses. I don't think any OBD-II software will work to reset the indicator. But it would work to download codes, but the rest is Audi/VW software, the only thing that works is the ross-tech and the VAG 1552.
I have the ross-tech and it's great!
