Service reminder going down too fast

After I last changed the oil I reset the service reminder using VAG COM using the default settings to set it back to 10000 miles. After only driving a few hundred miles it jumped down to 6500 miles. A few hundred miles more and it's now reading 4600 miles. For some reason the service reminder is dropping too fast.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
