So if the new S4 has a 344 bhp 4.2 litre V8 engine...what can we expect from the new S8?

Platform sharing made this company great. In the end Audi will offer two V6s, a V8, and a V10...
in North America with different degrees of tune choked off internally at the heads to deter the aftermarket. It is a little trick learned from Weissach and the M96 engineering. The TT and S3 will have a sub 300HP 3.2 shared from the R32 VW. The failure rate of the journal bearings of the W12 A8s in Germany which topped >85% for 1st generation release may be the sole determining factor to uptune the V10 from S6 to S8, due to long warranty expectations for stateside sales. AoA knows if they can get AG to keep it simple with the powerplants, they can hit tier 1 service reputation 5 years sooner than target. Just $.02.
