Default Sold the 01 and bought an 04

Thank you everyone for all the great advise! This is the best forum of any vehicle that I have owned. The combined knowledge is mind boggling.

I'll be hanging out on the D3 forum for awhile.

Take care everyone.
Paul, glad to see you on the D3 forum also since a late 2003 is considered at D3. Not sure why.

This has been my history and definitely the maintenence has been a fun ride!!!!

1998 A6 2.8 - Green - bought 2002
1998 A8 - Silver - bought 2004

Default Congrats! Those cars are really, really inexpensive

Look at your list....I wouldn't be surprised if you paid more for the A6 2.8 than the other cars when you bought it!

Default Not as bad as the D2's - Buy a D3 today!!!

Maintenence seems to be more with the electrical stuff and the MMI. I've only had the car 5 days now and pretty much went over with a fine comb. The only issues I'm having is with the MMI. The button that adjusts the mechanical features is not working. So dealer on Friday to get the MMI upgraded ($240) to newer version and button fixed (?). Going to get XM receiver ($95 from other source) and then get it installed (free from dealer) and also get the newest nav DVD on e-bay ($19). Got gray weather mats today at dealer for front and back ($117). Getting tinted windows next Thursday ($230). Other then that everything is perfect.

I have to say that owning 2 D2's and now this, there is no comparison on how AMAZING the D3 is. Completely different car. It makes my D2's feel like old and outdated cars. Go drive one, you will fall in love. The car rides amazing, when I hit 80 the car lowers almost 3 inches to sport. The list of features of the D3 is out of control. Power trunk, 16 way power seats driver and passenger, 6 speed transmission with less issues, on and on and on!!!!

If you can get one - Do it! 2005 has XM and Bluetooth, 2006 had new nose and less issues as reported on the D3 forum. But the 2004 can be upgraded to XM and you save money in the long run because the stone drop values of Audi's.

I took a big hit on my 2001, but at this moment, DO NOT CARE! So if you see a Bone White 2001 A8L - badged to look like an S8 with S8 wheels and mirrors! It has issues. But if you can fix the issues mentioned in the link, the rest of the car is Perfect condition. Tune-up and new brakes rotors, interior perfect - XM installed, all Nav CD's. 85K Denver Area. I did a trade so not sure where it will end-up.

Post a thread if you think you see it anywhere and I can give the scoop.

Thanks,

Default Your car appears to be Oyster Grey, not Atlas Grey.

Atlas Grey is more silver. I think the dealer had the color name wrong in their ad.

If you still have the window sticker it will have the color listed on there - or you can get the color code off the trim tag on the car.

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts your car is Oyster Grey.

Nice ride! I love my 05 A8L.

Default Good find, I take it it is fully loaded

I drove a d3 with only some features and I preferred my a8. Now if I drive a d3 S8 Im pretty sure my mind will change.

Unless the listing he posted is incorrect, it actually looks bone-stock. Zero options.
