TB service, special tools absolute must?
Hi all! I will be doing a TB replacement soon. All parts are ordered and on it's way. On audipages.com it says some specific tools will be required to complete this procedure. Are they absolute must or I can get away without them? Anyone done that?
I live in Canada, to rent a tools would be quite a time consuming.

I changed it without the tool, but I do crazy stuff.
If you never changed TB before, you should get the tools. I changed the TB on my wife's 94 100 on a parking lot with two pairs of channel lock.

If you want to make a costly mistake, don't use them
I've had numerous conversations with people that didn't use the tools to index the cam locking devices with the crank shaft. Two outcomes:
1. Poor performance.
2. Valve hits piston.
You can't do it by marking the belt with a pen in my opinion, the cam sprokets aren't even indexed, they are just a press fit.
Do what you think is important. Read the procedure carefully and you will determine what the purpose of the tools are.
